Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer I (PE) in Richmond, VA to lead technical aspects of engineering projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure designs meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and overseeing construction administration. A ABET-accredited degree and PE licensure are required, with 7–10 years of design and PM experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or SE licensure.
• 7–10 years of engineering design and project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering designs for complex projects with technical oversight.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and specifications to standards.
• Provide guidance to project teams and review progress for accuracy.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and support professional development.
• Conduct quality control at key project stages and coordinate with clients.
• Participate in client meetings and oversee construction administration.
