Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join our Industrial Center of Excellence. You will lead structural design for complex industrial projects, collaborate across planning, design, construction and commissioning, and provide technical leadership to deliver safe, high-quality solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in structural engineering, experience with steel/RC/masonry, and a PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in progressive structural engineering, incl. industrial/manufacturing facilities.
• PE license required or obtainable within 12 months.
• Experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry structures.
• Proficiency with RAM/RISA/STAAD/ETABS/SAP2000 or similar platforms.
• Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM-based workflows.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for industrial facilities.
• Design and evaluate steel, concrete, and other structural systems.
• Prepare/review structural calculations, reports, specs, and drawings.
• Perform gravity, wind, seismic, vibration, and dynamic analyses per codes.
• Coordinate with architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical, and process teams.
• Support BIM-based project delivery using Revit and related tools.
• Participate in reviews, constructability assessments, and QA activities.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and provide construction support.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the ICoE growth.
• Support business development and technical pursuits as needed.
• Foster safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
