Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks a senior Lead Designer in Pasadena to oversee civil/structural deliverables and guide a team of designers. You will deliver complex designs on time and within budget, mentoring staff and coordinating with engineers to ensure quality and code compliance.

The role requires extensive experience with AutoCAD or Microstation and familiarity with AISC/ACI standards. You will contribute to cost estimates, schedules, and construction document packages in a dynamic

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural drafting and design.
• Knowledge of AISC and ACI standard details.
• Ability to create accurate civil/structural construction documents from vendor drawings.
• Familiarity with design/drafting standards and CAD workflows.
• Ability to estimate man-hours and construct schedules for projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of designers.
• Serve as Lead Designer ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Review drawings for accuracy and coach junior drafting personnel.
• Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure design quality.
• Prepare man-hour estimates and assist with project schedules and budgets.
• Mentor entry-level teammates and lead design efforts on complex projects.
