Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Structural Designer to join its Advanced Solutions Group. The role involves leading drafting teams on major projects such as wind tunnels and aerospace facilities, developing 2D/3D drawings, and coordinating with engineering and management to meet schedule and budget objectives.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, plus extensive experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Creo, and Advance

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements.
• 10–20 years of experience in development of 2D drawings and 3D models of structures.
• Two years of formal training from a vocational school or two years of college with drafting or engineering courses plus at least eight years of experience.
• Must have working knowledge of CAE/CAD systems.
• Must have demonstrated leadership, organization, planning, communication, and problem solving capability.
• Proficient in 2D drawings/3D models using AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Inventor, Revit or Creo.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting teams on major projects and develop work plans for specific projects.
• Perform complex drafting and design from general concepts and engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with project management and engineers to ensure timely, accurate drawings.
• Ensure compliance with standards and certify completeness of final drawing packages.
