Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Advanced Solutions Group. Based at one of our U.S.

offices, you will lead and manage structural projects across defense, automotive, and aerospace sectors, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on scope, budget, and schedule. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in design and analysis of structural systems, proficiency with STAAD and ANSYS, and a proven ability to deliver code-compliant designs.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required to comply with government requirements.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design and analysis of structural systems.
• Experience with steel, concrete, and masonry structures; seismic design emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple structural engineers and drafters through all project phases.
• Provide complete design solutions from concept to construction.
• Apply design loading per building codes and design codes.
• Perform FE analysis using STAAD/ANSYS.
• Develop calculation packages including static, dynamic, and seismic stresses.
• Coordinate 3D modeling and 2D drawings with fabrication teams.
• Prepare bid packages and support project management and proposals.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
