Job summary

Memorial Hermann Northeast is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide sterilized surgical instruments and supplies to the operating room and other areas of the hospital. This role may lead a shift and requires adherence to Standard Precautions and sterile processing standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years of sterilization experience, and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years' experience in sterilization of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Strong math and basic computer skills.
• Able to lift and move supplies with others as needed.
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide sterilized surgical instruments, supplies and equipment to the operating room and other areas.
• May act as lead technician/charge person on shift as needed.
• Follow standards of sterility, cleaning agents, lubrication, and inspection according to procedure.
• Maintain records of equipment, supplies and quality control per hospital policy.
• Communicate delays or problems to OR and other areas; support infection control standards.
