Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide sterilized instruments, supplies and equipment to the operating room and hospital areas. The role may act as lead technician on the shift, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of sterilization experience, with CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in sterilization of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification required; CIS/CSIS preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English; basic math skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing sterilized instruments, supplies and equipment to the operating room and other hospital areas.
• May serve as lead technician/charge person on the shift when needed.
• Prepare, peel-pack, wrap and inspect instruments for sterilization.
• Maintain records, monitor equipment, and report issues or repairs.
• Ensure adherence to safety, infection control and hospital standards.
