Job summary

Endeavor Health in Illinois seeks a Lead Sterile Processing Tech to oversee the Sterile Processing Department during day shifts in Arlington Heights. Two years in healthcare sterile processing and CBSPD/CRCST certification are required at hire.

You will help run the department when the supervisor is unavailable, manage supplies, and ensure decontamination and sterilization procedures meet OR demand. Proficiency in Outlook is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CBSPD or CRCST certification required upon hire.
• Two years’ experience in healthcare sterile processing or surgical area.
• Preferred: two years’ lead or staff education experience.
• Proficiency in Outlook required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in running the department when supervisor is unavailable.
• Inform management items and supplies needed to order, and assist in locating needed instrumentation and adjust workflow to meet OR demand.
• Oversee the departmental needs on a daily basis.
• Provide hospital and affiliated facilities with sterile processed materials and equipment.
• Execute established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization and surgical case cart setup ensuring quality products for patient care.
• Follow established procedures to ensure decontamination completion.
• Place sterile items in appropriate areas for distribution and ensure correct labeling by department.
