Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company seeks an SRE Engineer Lead to own reliability, availability, and performance of critical technology platforms. You will build the SRE team, establish standards, and drive automation and observability across engineering teams to ensure resilient, secure systems ready for peak demand.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software/systems engineering and 2+ years of leading teams, with strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
8+ years of experience in software/systems engineering or SRE roles.
2+ years leading teams of four or more software developers.

Responsibilities

Own reliability: drive system availability, performance, resilience, and readiness.
Engineer for scale: automate operations, improve observability, reduce toil.
Lead SRE excellence: set incident mgmt, SLOs, capacity, and recovery standards.
Build and grow the SRE team, partner across engineering to ensure resilient platforms.
