Job summary

Starbucks Technology Nashville is seeking an engineer lead to deliver high-quality, reliable platform technologies and security capabilities. You will install, configure, monitor, and support the engineering platform while guiding a development team and coordinating with partners across the business and technology groups.

The role requires 8–10 years in software development, 2+ years leading teams, and strong experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, and security standards.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of professional industry experience with software development.
• 2 years of leading teams of four or more software developers.
• 7+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, and systems engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl and/or Ruby.
• 5+ years experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures.

Responsibilities

• Communicate complex ideas to non-technical peers and customers.
• Establish cross-functional relationships with business and technology partners.
• Support the development team and resolve developer issues promptly.
• Engineer build and release processes.
• Manage technology vendors to deliver business objectives.
• Ensure stable, secure, compliant architectures.
