Job summary

Northpointhc in Fresno, CA is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct patient care in a skilled nursing facility setting. You will evaluate and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

You will document services accurately, develop treatment plans, supervise clinical fellows, and contribute to professional development while maintaining compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• 2–3 years experience in a skilled nursing facility rehab environment or equivalent
• Certificate of Clinical Competence and California license or license candidate
• Knowledge of evaluation and treatment for medically based speech, language, and swallowing disorders
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides; knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment programs to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within patient limitations.
• Evaluate and treat patients; communicate with families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team; document services.
• Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approvals from referring physicians; use evaluation tools and document accurately.
• Communicate progress and plans with supervisor and health team members; educate families and staff.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements; manage Medicare processes.
