Job summary

Monterey Healthcare & Wellness Centre in California seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct patient care in a skilled nursing facility. You will evaluate, treat, and document patient progress, and collaborate with families, physicians and the rehab team to optimize outcomes.

You will supervise Clinical Fellows and other SLPs, contribute to ongoing professional development, ensure compliance with licensing, billing, and regulatory requirements, and uphold exceptional patient care

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Speech-Language Pathology evaluation and treatment for medically based disorders.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of staff and patients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides treatment programs to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within each patient’s limitations; evaluates and treats patients and documents services in medical records.
• Writes accurate, complete documentation in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer requirements and billing data.
• Consistently demonstrates an interdisciplinary approach to patient care and collaboration with family, discharge planners, and rehab team.
• Supervises Clinical Fellow and other SLPs in direct patient care and related activities.
