Job summary

TriCore, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, is seeking a dedicated supervisor to lead the Specimen Management department. You will coordinate with internal and external customers to ensure quality and turnaround time standards are met.

You will oversee staffing, training, performance evaluations, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem solving.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory with at least two years of specimen processing.
• Previous supervisory or lead experience.
• Immunization against Hepatitis B or waiver.
• Documentation of PPD test within 90 days prior to hire or a recent PPD test.

Responsibilities

• Supervise department staff and oversee interview/selection processes.
• Review and approve leave requests and time cards for non-exempt staff; manage performance evaluations.
• Oversee staff training and onboarding; provide guidance and problem solving support.
• Ensure QA and regulatory compliance; participate in process improvement and safety programs.
• Coordinate with other departments and contracted services to maintain workflow and productivity.
