Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Gilbert, AZ seeks an experienced electrical engineer for spaceflight hardware development. You will design, analyze, and verify avionics, CCA layouts, and FPGA/micr ocontroller interfaces, supporting testing from breadboard to flight units.

Required are strong circuit design skills, schematic capture, and test planning experience for aerospace applications; DoD-sensitive work may apply. Collaborative and rigorous problem solving is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years of experience (or 3 years with a Master’s or 1 year with a PhD).
  • Solid background in digital/analog circuit design for spaceflight applications.
  • Experience with schematic capture and circuit card layout practices.
  • Experience with circuit analysis (WCA, PSA, FMEA, SI, timing, radiation).
  • Experience developing test plans and procedures for avionics hardware.
  • Experience leading design, development, and testing of breadboards, engineering models, and flight units.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical standards, principles, theories and techniques.
  • Understand NGSS hardware design and test engineering practices.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on electrical interfaces and operation.
  • Develop bench-level verification procedures and test limits.
  • Prepare materials for program reviews (ERBs, FRBs, TRRs, PDRs, CDRs).
  • Generate specifications and review packages for flight hardware.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to support hardware delivery.
