Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Chandler, AZ invites applications for a Principal Electrical Engineer - Level 3 in the Avionics Design Group of Launch Vehicles. You will lead circuit design efforts for digital and mixed-signal systems in demanding environments, including radiation considerations, and collaborate across engineering teams.

The role requires strong experience in schematic capture, board layout, FPGA/microprocessor design, and circuit simulations (PSpice/LTSpice). U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelors with 5 years’ digital / mixed signal design experience or Masters with 3 years’ experience.
• Ability to work in an Agile project format, team-based environment, including Jira and Git environments.
• Experience with Schematic capture and board layout.
• Familiarity with microprocessor and/or FPGA circuit design.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation including PSpice or LTSpice.
• Experienced in hardware troubleshooting / software debugging. Physical testing experience including lab measurement (oscilloscope, signal/function generator, logic analyzer, etc).
• Experience generating design documents, specifications, user's manuals, test plans and procedures.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Active Secret Clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital and mixed-signal circuits for avionics.
• Prepare design analyses, specifications, and test procedures.
• Perform circuit simulations to verify requirements (PSpice/LTSpice).
• Support qualification testing and test reports.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and other teams; oversee component supplier activities.
