Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to manage GS2PA configuration baselines for New Glenn, owning baselines across structural, mechanical, fluids, and electrical subsystems. Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in aircraft or spacecraft mechanical design, configuration and layout.
  • Design configuration control experience on recently developed products and equipment from trade studies through manufacturing and test.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills within a highly integrated cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an integrated product team to define configuration baselines for vehicle design changes and variants.
  • Own integrated configuration across subsystems, ensuring a coherent vehicle-level design solution.
  • Drive development and flow-down of configuration requirements and verification planning.
  • Lead cross-functional trade studies and assess design options.
  • Coordinate and communicate configuration changes across subsystems, resolving conflicts.
