Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead space vehicle system design for a unique customer mission within the Blue Ring SEIT organization. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams across hardware, software, and integration, shaping model-based design and verification to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 10+ years in spacecraft design or related area with progression to lead roles.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical programs.

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural baseline development and drive the technical vision for the spacecraft program.
• Lead requirements decomposition, interfaces, and design standards across subsystems.
• Provide direction for mission CONOPS development and planning.
• Act as technical lead for milestone reviews and cross-program decisions.
• Lead risk identification/mitigation across all mission phases and drive tech maturation.
• Oversee integration of spacecraft hardware, software, and control systems into test facilities and launch vehicles.
