Job summary

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and infrastructure in Long Beach, CA. The Technical Project Manager, Software, reports to the Manager, Technical Projects, and will lead cross-functional teams across hardware and software for Haven-1 and future products.

This full-time, exempt role is based in Long Beach. Responsibilities include end-to-end project leadership, risk management, and ensuring safety and quality within tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, mechanical, aerospace, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred in CS/EE/ME/Aerospace.
• 3+ years engineering with software/hardware interface.
• 1+ years cross-functional technical leadership.
• End-to-end product lifecycle management experience.
• Experience with MS Project, SmartSheet, JIRA, Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects across hardware, software, and artifacts.
• Prioritize safety and quality while meeting tight timelines.
• Act as single point of contact for scope, schedule, cost, priorities.
• Ensure schedules and program documents are current for staff reviews.
• Apply first principles to problem solving and decision making.
• Demonstrate urgency across all initiatives.
