Job summary

Vast is seeking a Technical Project Manager, Software in Long Beach to lead Haven-1 and future space station programs. You will coordinate hardware, software, and mission operations, driving schedules, risk management, and cross-functional alignment to deliver complex space systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field, 3+ years in engineering leadership, and strong communication. Travel up to 15% and flexibility for mission milestones are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering fields.
• 1+ years of cross functional technical leadership (i.e. project engineering, product management, systems engineering, or engineering management)
• 3+ years of demonstrated contributions in an engineering discipline and capacity, demonstrating expertise to software/hardware interface
• Experience with project management and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, SmartSheet, JIRA, Confluence)

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish across hardware, software, and artifacts for product and mission success
• Prioritize safety and quality while maintaining timelines and coordinating with stakeholders
• Serve as single point of contact to manage scope, schedule, cost, and priorities across projects
• Ensure schedules and program documents are complete and accessible for staff and leadership
• Apply first principles approach to problem solving and decision making
• Demonstrate urgency and drive initiatives across the organization
