Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an experienced systems engineer to support space payload design and development across multiple programs. You will join a multi-project leadership team enabling transition to new concepts and tech refresh while coordinating with internal and external collaborators.

Required: a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of directly related experience, plus eligibility for a DOE Q clearance. Onsite work is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five years of directly relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering/science experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop space system design and architecture concepts leading to system design.
  • Apply space system engineering knowledge to influence remote sensing payload design.
  • Derive and allocate system requirements for high-reliability remote sensing systems.
  • Plan, analyze, and integrate system capabilities to meet mission needs.
  • Coordinate across internal and external teams to ensure successful delivery.
