Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Senior/Principal Computer Scientist for Space, Satellites and Remote Sensing Systems. Onsite role with a focus on real-time data processing, computer vision, and AI-enabled solutions for space-based sensors.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in C++/Python, Linux, and distributed computing, with experience in cloud-native environments and securing DOE Q/SCI clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI clearance.
• Proficiency in modern software development using C++ and/or Python in Linux-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Be part of software teams delivering solutions for remote sensing systems and real-time data processing.
• Propose and lead image processing and data-centric R&D projects related to computer vision.
• Architect, develop, and optimize high-performance software for real-time distributed systems (CPU/GPU/FPGA).
• Collaborate with data fusion, signal processing, cloud computing, and ML teams to solve complex problems.
