Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Experienced Space Systems R&D Electrical Engineer to model, design, build and test space electronics for national security space programs. You will translate system models into hardware and contribute to radiation testing and fault analysis, with a focus on flight-ready space electronics components.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; a Master's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of directly relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
  • Ability to work from modeling to hardware build and testing.
  • Ability to obtain DOE Q and SCI or equivalent clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide understanding of space electronics sub-system design to space system modelers.
  • Generate models of space electronics designed by others.
  • Develop space electronics fault trees to inform testing.
  • Design, build and test space electronics components at the board level.
  • Provide guidance on radiation effects and testing for space electronics.
