Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group seeks a dedicated Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in all culinary and dining operations at our Indiana location. You will recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, monitor quality, portions, and costs, and assist with menu planning and ordering.

You will prepare meals to order and step in for the Executive Chef when needed, ensuring excellent plate presentation and resident satisfaction. A strong focus on teamwork and efficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Working towards Sous Chef Certification or equivalent experience.
• Proven leadership, strong organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef in hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Directly supervise all culinary staff.
• Assist in managing and training culinary and dining personnel.
• Supervise staff regarding quality, portions, costs, scheduling, and staffing.
• Ensure quality of food through tasting and presentation.
• Assist with menu planning, development, and ordering of supplies.
• Prepare and cook meals to order.
• Manage culinary department in Executive Chef's absence.
• Assist cooks as needed.
• Step in during emergencies or rush periods.
• Strive for 100% resident satisfaction with presentation and taste.
• Circulate dining rooms to gather resident feedback.
• Support mission, values, and vision.
