Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group seeks an Executive Chef to lead the culinary and dining department across our senior living communities. The role emphasizes achieving resident satisfaction through superior plate presentation, tastings, and engaging staff leadership.

The Executive Chef will manage menu development and pricing, control food costs and labor, and uphold safety and sanitation standards. Collaboration with site leadership ensures exceptional dining experiences for residents and guests.

Qualifications

• Certified Executive Chef preferred.
• Minimum four years of industry and culinary management experience.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, commitment to customer service, and strong organization/time management.
• Experience in menu development and pricing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Culinary labor, food and smallware financial management experience.

Responsibilities

• Achieve 100% resident satisfaction through plate presentation and taste. Circulate dining rooms for resident feedback.
• Establish presentation techniques and ensure quality standards.
• Hire, coach, train, inspire and direct culinary staff; maintain scheduling and employee reviews.
• Develop Sous Chef and Lead Cook to take on additional leadership duties.
• Direct food cost, labor costs, menu engineering, recipe creation and standardization for consistency.
• Ensure proper equipment operation, safety and sanitation policies are followed.
• Oversee catering events and offer culinary instruction or demonstrations.
• Maintain a positive attitude and promote public relations with residents, families and guests.
• Function as Manager on Duty as scheduled with site leadership.
