Job summary

StoryPoint is seeking a Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in successfully managing all aspects of the culinary and dining department across our facilities. You will directly supervise culinary staff, participate in menu planning, food ordering, and training, and ensure quality of food and plate presentation for residents.

This role requires leadership, organization, and the ability to work under pressure during meals and emergencies, with a focus on resident satisfaction and dining

Qualifications

• Working towards Sous Chef Certification or comparable work experience.
• Proven leadership abilities, strong organization, and time management skills.
• Experience supervising culinary staff and coordinating kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef in hiring, coaching, and performance management for culinary operations.
• Directly supervise all culinary staff.
• Assist Executive Chef in managing and training culinary and dining personnel.
• Supervises culinary staff regarding product quality, portion, cost controls, scheduling, and staffing.
• Prepare and cook meals to order.
• Manage the culinary department during Executive Chef absence.
• Ensure resident satisfaction through plate presentation and tasting.
