Delano Miami Beach is seeking a talented Sommelier to lead refined wine service under the Head Sommelier, enhancing the guest dining experience with expert recommendations. You will oversee the wine program, manage inventory and cellar operations, mentor staff, and collaborate with culinary teams to design menus and pairings that elevate the brand's luxury dining.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Hospitality, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional Sommelier or beverage leadership experience.
• Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, and service, including varietals and regions.
• Experience with wine list development, wine and food pairing, inventory management, and cellar operations.
• Experience with high-profile guests and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the wine program to deliver refined guest experiences.
• Maintain knowledge of the wine list and communicate it clearly.
• Train and develop the sommelier team and wine service staff.
• Collaborate with culinary team to design/update wine menus and pairings.
• Manage wine inventory, ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating.
• Ensure proper wine storage and cellar conditions.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement service improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and alcohol service regulations.
• Drive team engagement and promote professional growth.
• Participate in tastings and staff training; assist in promotional events.
• Perform other duties as assigned; occasional cross-task support.
