Job summary

D.A. Collins Companies in Wilton, NY is seeking a Superintendent - Solar to lead field operations at our Wilton HQ.

You will oversee project setup, scheduling, crew coordination, and safety across solar projects, coordinating with management to ensure on-time delivery. The role requires 5+ years supervision, experience managing crews and heavy equipment, proficiency with Trimble GPS data collection, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction supervision experience.
• 3+ years as a Superintendent or lead field supervisor.
• Experience managing crews, subcontractors, and heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and field operations.
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• Willingness to travel throughout New York State

Responsibilities

• Experience and proficiency in Project setup, office, yard, equipment, personnel (union) at project location
• Operations planning and scheduling
• Experience and proficiency in using Trimble GPS data collector for field data collection and calibration of site to include base station setup, use of repeaters and uploading of GPS machine control data files
• Experience and proficiency in managing multiple crews and scopes of work
• Tracking and monitoring production in real time in coordination with project management to include project budget
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate well via email and multiple types of correspondence
• Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft 365 Software programs
• Lead and supervise daily field operations
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
• Coordinate project schedules, materials, and equipment
• Monitor productivity, resolve field issues, and maintain project documentation
• Build positive relationships with clients, inspectors, and project stakeholders
• Mentor field personnel and promote teamwork andaccountability.
