Space Dynamics Laboratory in Virginia seeks a Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute software test plans embedded with a government sponsor. You will work closely with Government Test and Evaluation staff and cross-functional teams to ensure verification and validation of hardware and software systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent with 5 years related experience
• 5+ years of professional experience as a software test engineer or related role
• DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows
• Strong verbal and written communication, and ability to work independently
• Experience embedded with government sponsor and collaboration with DoD stakeholders

Responsabilités

• Provides technical leadership and oversight for verification and validation of integrated hardware and software systems
• Reviews and evaluates test strategies, plans, procedures, test cases, and results for adequacy against requirements
• Assess test evidence and provide recommendations on readiness for customer acceptance
• Maintains traceability between requirements, test procedures, results, defects, and acceptance criteria
• Develops and improves system, integration, regression, and acceptance testing approaches including automation
• Evaluates testing from end-user perspective to support operational workflows
• Manages defects, investigates impact, and verifies corrective actions and regression testing
• Develops risk-based test strategies balancing rigor, priorities, maturity, and release schedules
• Coordinates test activities among government stakeholders, development teams, and testers
• Identifies gaps in test coverage and recommends actions to verify system performance
• Provides leadership with clear assessments of test status, deficiencies, risks, and readiness
• Develops new test methodologies and tools for evolving architectures
• Mentors engineers and staff supporting testing and IV&V
