Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Software Engineer, Test Engineering and Operations in Hawthorne, CA. You will design, develop, and improve software connecting flight hardware and test operations, enabling vehicles to be built, tested, and flown.

You will own the full software lifecycle, collaborate with engineers, and apply data-driven approaches to reduce operational risk and automate repetitive tasks. Strong Python and Linux skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, math, or scientific discipline OR 1+ years of professional experience coding in an object-oriented language.
• Minimum of 1+ years of professional software development experience with Python.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and operate in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Python-based analysis tools and data pipelines for hardware checkout and test operations.
• Interface with physical systems and instrumentation in software solutions.
• Design, implement, and deploy software using CI/CD pipelines and Linux environments.
• Evaluate tools and processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Create software solutions that reduce recurring tasks and streamline workflows.
• Develop secure, scalable software following OO principles and adopt new technologies.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews in a collaborative environment.
