Job summary

Teradyne is seeking an experienced Software Quality Applications Manager to lead a team responsible for customer-facing software quality initiatives, field application engineering support, and product validation activities in North Reading, MA.

You will bridge customers, software engineering, product management, and field teams to ensure high-quality software solutions are deployed and supported, drive quality improvements, and establish best practices and metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of software quality engineering, software testing, field applications, product validation, or related.
• Prior people leadership experience or demonstrated success leading technical teams and projects.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and software quality engineering principles.
• Experience with software validation, test automation, defect management, and quality management systems.
• Root cause analysis, CAPA, FMEA, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Software Quality Applications Engineers supporting customer accounts and product lines.
• Act as the primary escalation point for critical customer quality and reliability issues.
• Partner with internal software engineering, Release, marketing, and customer support teams to investigate and resolve issues.
• Drive root cause analysis for customer escapes using structured methodologies (8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, FMEA).
• Establish and monitor key quality metrics and corrective action effectiveness.
• Lead customer-facing technical reviews, quality audits, and business reviews.
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions across global teams and ensure timely closure.
