Subway Headquarters is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to steer the menu platform's technical direction across a global restaurant network. You will code hands-on, architect the system, and drive modernization from C# to a new TypeScript stack, shaping how AI-powered features run in production.

The role emphasizes technical leadership without people management, with focus on delivering scalable, high-impact solutions that affect thousands of franchisees worldwide.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, Node.js, React, and React Native, including frontend craft.
• Strong with service-based architectures and NestJS.
• Full-stack range across CI/CD and cloud infrastructure with observability.
• Ownership of system architecture and leadership of significant technical work.
• Experience modernizing a mature application through rewrite or re-platform.
• Hands-on AI tool experience (e.g., Claude) to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and technical direction of the menu platform.
• Stay hands-on: write code, design, and ship alongside the team.
• Lead re-architecture of production systems and modernize services onto a new TypeScript stack.
• Drive day-to-day delivery, unblock engineers, and review code.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across the group.
• Define how AI accelerates the team and architect agentic features in production.
