Job summary
Subway is seeking a Director of Guest Engineering to lead our full guest-facing digital stack—mobile, web, kiosk, and middleware—across a four-pod model. You will set architectural direction, build a high-performing team of 20+ engineers, and drive autonomous delivery in a fast-paced consumer environment with AI-assisted development.
You will partner with product, finance, HR, and partner ecosystems to deliver multi-year roadmaps and ensure platform reliability, security, and scalable guest
Qualifications
- Deep experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across mobile, web, and API platforms.
- Proven track record delivering high-traffic consumer digital platforms at scale.
- Strong understanding of modern front-end patterns and identity systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and organizational leadership across guest-facing surfaces and API platform.
- Lead Sr. Development Managers, Tech Leads, and Solution Architects; drive culture and performance.
- Define quarterly roadmaps; align surface and platform delivery with business priorities.
- Own operations, reliability, on-call standards, and incident response across all surfaces.
- Champion AI-assisted development and embed automated tooling into reviews and delivery.
