Job summary

Highmark Health seeks a lead software engineer to join an agile team responsible for scalable digital solutions across channels. You will provide architectural oversight, drive technical delivery, and mentor engineers to meet product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 7 years of proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns in scalable systems
• 5 years in at least two modern programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica)
• 5 years of understanding of web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, JSON
• 5 years with two or more general purpose programming languages including Java, Python, C/C++, C#, Objective C, JavaScript, or Go
• 5 years of defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade-offs for optimization and maintainability
• 7 years of healthcare technology experience (preferred)
• 5 years translating design mock-ups into working applications
• 3 years working with Machine Learning esp. NLP, MT, Deep Neural Networks (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design and create engineering specifications for software applications
• Write code that adheres to standards and perform code reviews
• Generate ideas and implement technical solutions to achieve product features
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies and assist in sprint planning
• Create and manage stories, DoD and acceptance criteria, estimates
• Collaborate with principal engineers on complex technical solutions
• Mentor junior engineers as needed
• Handle other duties as assigned
