Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced software engineer to join an agile team building scalable applications across digital channels. You will contribute to enterprise-wide architecture and collaborate on product roadmaps, mentoring peers and driving high-quality code across the software development lifecycle.

The role requires strong experience across major languages and frameworks, REST/JSON, and modern cloud platforms, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

Responsibilities

• Design and create engineering specifications for software applications and programs.
• Write code that adheres to coding standards and perform code reviews.
• Explore and implement technical solutions to achieve required product features while ensuring scalability and performance.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies and assist in sprint planning and execution.
• Create stories, DoD, Acceptance Criteria, and estimates; manage tasks in RTC/Jira.
• Collaborate with principal engineers to design and implement complex solutions.
• Mentor other software engineers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
