Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced software engineering professional to join an agile team. You will take an enterprise-wide architectural view, drive technical execution, and mentor other engineers while contributing to design, development, and SDLC best practices across digital channels.

The role requires 7 years of experience with algorithms, data structures, and design patterns, plus hands-on work with multiple programming languages and cloud/REST technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 7 years of experience in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures and patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and create engineering specifications for software applications.
• Write code adhering to standards; perform code reviews.
• Generate ideas, explore technical solutions to achieve product features and ensure scalability and performance.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies and assist in sprint planning.
• Drive story creation (DoD, Acceptance Criteria, estimation) and manage tasks in RTC/Jira.
• Collaborate with principal engineers to design and implement complex solutions.
• Mentor other software engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.
