Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain seeks an experienced Advisor, Software Developer -- IIB to lead and contribute across the software development lifecycle. You will design, code, test, and deploy solutions that integrate Sterling WMS with enterprise apps, while mentoring junior developers.

The role emphasizes strong Java/JSP/SQL skills, problem solving, and collaboration with senior stakeholders to deliver reliable systems and scalable data flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of Java (1.4+), JSP, XML, HTML, JavaScript.
• Oracle 9+; programming with SQL and PL/SQL.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, maps, and regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, configure, and support Sterling WMS components, ensuring data flow between warehouse systems and enterprise apps.
• Analyze Sterling WMS‑related issues across inbound, outbound, and inventory workflows; perform root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Encode, test, debug, and document complex software/programs.
• Review, analyze, troubleshoot, and modify core and customized software.
• Respond to escalated customer inquiries and requests for technical/operational support.
• Resolve complex technical matters to meet SLAs.
• Follow documented Software Development Life-Cycle standards.
• Provide consultation on complex projects as a top‑level contributor or specialist.
• Serve as point of contact for higher‑level or complex issues with senior leaders.
