Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain in the United States seeks an Advisor, Software Developer -- IIB to lead and contribute to software development in a team environment, enabling design, code, test, and deployment across diverse technologies.

You will work with Sterling WMS components, implement SDLC standards, mentor peers, and provide advanced troubleshooting and cross‑functional collaboration with senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience: 8+ years in software development and integration.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Proficiency with Java, XML, SQL/PL-SQL, and Oracle databases.
• Experience with Sterling WMS and integration middleware is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, configure, and support Sterling WMS components and ensure reliable data flow.
• Analyze WMS issues and perform root‑cause analysis to maintain operations.
• Encode, test, debug, and document complex software programs.
• Review and troubleshoot core and customized software.
• Respond to escalated customer inquiries and provide technical support.
• Follow SDLC standards and mentor junior developers.
• Design, develop, test, and support applications using MQ, IIB, ESQL, Java, XML, SOAP/REST, DataPower, API Connect, and ESB.
• Develop specifications and prototypes for proofs of concept.
• Configure interfaces to other systems and develop data files.
• Communicate requirements to end users and develop test plans.
• Provide after-hours/on-call support as required.
