Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Ontada technology division to guide architecture across the iKnowMed G2 platform, Ontada Health Portal, Practice Insights, and Value-Based Care solutions for thousands of clinicians. You will own architecture decisions, define standards, and drive scalable, secure cloud-native systems in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with 5+ years in architecture leadership.
• Experience designing large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7) is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Architecture Leadership: Define and drive the technology vision, architecture strategy, and modernization roadmap.
• Solution Design & Governance: Lead architecture reviews and establish technology standards.
• Cloud & Platform Modernization: Drive adoption of cloud platforms and containerization.
• Enterprise Integration: Architect secure, scalable REST API and messaging integrations.
• Technology Strategy & Roadmaps: Develop multi-year architecture roadmaps aligned to business goals.

• Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Champion AI/GenAI adoption and advanced analytics.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure reliability, security, and performance across platforms.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Align tech solutions with business priorities and communicate decisions.
• Technology Management: Evaluate platforms, cloud services, and vendor partnerships.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Meet regulatory and security requirements, healthcare standards.
