Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Lead IT Architect to define technology strategy, architectural direction, and AI-enabled engineering transformation across a Value Stream. You will own the architectural runway and ensure teams have the guidance, patterns, and enablers needed to deliver scalable, secure software.

The role requires deep technical leadership, strong communication, and a passion for enterprise-scale software, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
• Experience owning architecture across multiple applications, products, or Agile teams.
• Experience designing enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure or a comparable cloud platform.
• Experience with architecture governance and documentation, including architecture decision records (ADRs).

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural runway for an Agile Release Train (ART) and define solution approaches, enablers, patterns, dependencies, and future-state designs.
• Drive AI-enabled software delivery adoption and establish architecture practices across the Value Stream.
• Create and maintain architecture artifacts, diagrams, and documentation to support scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to enable delivery speed, quality, and operational excellence across teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
