Amperity is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to join Team BASS, the Swiss-army-knife of our engineering organization, overseeing developer productivity, shared service platforms, and high-scale Spark infrastructure.

In this role, you will set multi-year strategic direction, connect product strategy with technical execution, and mentor a high-performing team to deliver scalable, reliable systems while advancing AI-enabled capabilities across the platform.

Qualifications

Experience leading architectural strategy for high-scale, distributed systems.
Expertise with Spark or a similar distributed framework.
Ability to translate complex problems into simple technical direction for a team.
Experience shaping AI-native strategies and governance.

Responsibilities

Guide architectural health of the BASS platform, aligning decisions with long-term goals.
Define technically excellent standards for productivity and automation.
Mentor team members to raise execution and impact beyond personal delivery.
Turn ambiguity into runnable engineering plans at the team level.
Improve system reliability and reduce platform risk through architecture.
Define and drive AI strategy for platform-level changes.
