Amperity in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to help build a scalable data platform that powers real-time insights for enterprise customers. You’ll work on a team that owns large-scale batching and streaming systems, a data warehouse, and a query stack that processes petabytes of data to drive decisions.

You’ll collaborate across product and infrastructure, implement modern AI coding tools, and ship end-to-end features using Clojure, Spark, Trino, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with large-scale data-oriented systems.
• Experience with Trino, Spark, Delta Lake, and Kubernetes preferred.
• Track record building, scaling, and managing production environments.
• Excited about using functional languages (like Clojure!).
• Passionate about building elegant user experiences on top of complex technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own batching and real-time streaming systems handling large data volumes.
• Build full-stack experiences and toolsets to visualize data and surface insights.
• Integrate services into the operating core of customer businesses.
• Change how marketers use customer data through intuitive product experiences.
• Build agentic tools and MCPs to enable external AI tools on the platform.
