Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a projects support professional to help manage sustainable infrastructure initiatives across assigned sites.

You will assist Project Executives, Construction Managers, and delivery teams to keep schedules on track, ensure safety standards, and adhere to contract scope while balancing customer satisfaction and financial results. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least four years of installation and crew leadership experience in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of installation and crew leadership experience in the Building Construction Industry.
• Experience with Lighting, HVAC controls, Electrical Systems, Solar Systems, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems is desired.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical material to a non-technical audience.
• Strong PC skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio; Windows environment.
• Able to travel based on assigned projects; travel extensively may be required.

Responsibilities

• Acts in a support role for Project Executives, Construction Managers, Project Managers and delivery teams on assigned projects; status updates and progress to plan.
• Assist in surveys, audits, field measurements, development of estimates and quotations under supervision.
• Inspects work on job sites to ensure safety, quality and contract scope compliance.
• Assist in expediting materials, equipment or supplies as necessary in the field.
• Communicates project progress and issues to management; proposes workarounds.
• Support demonstration product installation as part of process development or sales demonstrations.
• Train installers and subcontractors; promote best practices.
• Oversee project construction for compliance with specifications and local codes.
• Assist in selecting, ordering, and delivering materials; receive equipment on site with safety protocols.
• Attend progress meetings; ensure subcontractors understand expectations.
• Facilitate escalation of product-related problems.
• Support project development efforts with FM, LDOL or other team members.
• Provide project schedule input and progress updates for master schedule.
• Perform other management-related tasks as assigned.
