Job description

Lead Site Reliability Engineer/Architect (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DevOps Engineering, SRE, and AWS. This role includes leadership responsibilities, such as planning strategies. The candidate will ensure robust and efficient system operations, playing a key role in advancing our company's mission.

Location: Riverwoods, IL - USA (Remote allowed)

Responsibilities

1. Experience in infrastructure architecture
2. Application architectural experience
3. Build and mentor SRE teams
4. Perform SRE activities independently
5. Define SRE roadmaps and strategies
6. Set SRE objectives: SLI, SLO, SLA, KPI
7. Implement core SRE principles and practices
8. Collaborate on estimation, resource planning, and delivering solutions
9. Understand management requirements and strategize planning for SRE and resiliency
10. Conduct triage and RCA of production incidents
11. Implement observability and monitoring with APM tools, dashboards, alerts, and automation
12. Demonstrate leadership through cross-team collaboration and effective communication

Qualifications

1. Experience with Agile methodologies
2. Proficiency with JIRA
3. Budget and resource planning skills
4. Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow
5. Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Planner
6. Proficiency with documentation tools like Confluence and SharePoint
7. Knowledge of SRE chaos/resiliency engineering
8. Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Splunk, APM
9. Understanding of cloud concepts, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native technologies, Linux/Unix
10. Proficiency in programming/scripting languages
11. Experience with Terraform, Ansible
12. Knowledge of databases and Openshift

Other Compensation

Applications accepted until May 15th, 2025. The annual salary ranges from $120,000 to $162,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance.
