SRE Lead/Architect (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DevOps Engineering, SRE, and AWS. This role includes leadership responsibilities, such as planning strategies, and involves ensuring robust and efficient system operations to support our company's mission.

Location: Riverwoods, IL - USA (Remote allowed)

Responsibilities

• Experience in infrastructure architecture and application architecture
• Build and mentor SRE teams
• Perform SRE activities independently
• Define SRE roadmaps and strategies
• Set SRE objectives: SLI, SLO, SLA, KPI
• Implement core SRE principles and practices
• Collaborate on estimation, resource planning, and delivering solutions
• Strategize planning from SRE and resiliency perspectives
• Triage and perform RCA of production incidents
• Implement observability and monitoring with APM tools, dashboards, alerts, and automation
• Demonstrate leadership qualities such as cross-team collaboration and effective communication

Qualifications

• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Proficiency with JIRA, ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, Planner, Confluence, SharePoint
• Knowledge of SRE Chaos/Resiliency Engineering, Monitor & Observability tools
• Understanding of cloud concepts, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native technologies, Linux/Unix, scripting languages
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, databases, AWS, OpenShift

Additional Information

Application deadline: May 15^th, 2025

Salary: $120,000 to $162,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This position is eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance.
