Lead Site Reliability Engineer/Architect (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DevOps Engineering, SRE, and AWS. This role involves leadership responsibilities, including planning strategies. By ensuring robust and efficient system operations, the candidate will play a key role in advancing our company's mission.

Location: Riverwoods, IL, USA (Remote allowed)

Responsibilities

1. Have strong experience in infrastructure architecture.
2. Possess application architectural experience.
3. Build and mentor SRE teams.
4. Perform SRE activities independently with architectural expertise.
5. Define SRE roadmaps and strategies across the organization.
6. Set SRE objectives such as SLI, SLO, SLA, and KPI.
7. Implement core SRE principles and practices effectively.
8. Collaborate on estimation, resource planning, and delivering solutions aligned with business needs.
9. Understand management requirements and strategize planning from SRE and resiliency perspectives.
10. Triage and conduct RCA of production incidents.
11. Utilize observability and monitoring tools, create dashboards/alerts, and automate incident responses.
12. Demonstrate leadership qualities, including cross-team collaboration and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency with JIRA.
• Experience in budget and resource planning.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Planner.
• Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence and SharePoint.
• Understanding of SRE Chaos/Resiliency Engineering principles.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, and APM.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix and scripting/programming languages.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and other automation tools.
• Familiarity with databases and AWS services.
• Experience with OpenShift is a plus.

Other Compensation

Applications are accepted until May 15th, 2025. The annual salary ranges from $120,000 to $162,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive and stock awards, based on performance.
