We are looking for a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in DevOps Engineering, SRE, and AWS. This role includes leadership responsibilities, such as planning strategies, and involves ensuring robust and efficient system operations to support our company's mission.

Riverwoods, IL - USA (Remote allowed)

Responsibilities

• Experience in infrastructure architecture
• Application architectural experience
• Build and mentor SRE teams
• Perform SRE activities independently
• Define SRE roadmaps and strategies
• Create and set SRE objectives, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, KPIs
• Implement core SRE principles and practices
• Collaborate on estimation, resource planning, and solution delivery
• Strategize from a resiliency perspective
• Triage and perform RCA of production incidents
• Implement observability and monitoring with APM tools, dashboards, alerts, and automation
• Demonstrate leadership qualities such as cross-team collaboration and effective communication

Qualifications

• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Proficiency with JIRA
• Budget and resource planning skills
• Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Planner
• Experience with documentation tools like Confluence and SharePoint
• Understanding of SRE chaos/resiliency engineering and monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, and APM
• Cloud concepts, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native technologies, Linux/Unix
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages, Terraform, Ansible
• Experience with AWS, OpenShift, databases, and monitoring tools

Additional Information

Applications are accepted until May 15, 2025. The annual salary ranges from $120,000 to $162,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program.
