You have 10+ years in silicon photonics, and you will shape optical interconnect strategies, currency link budgets, and behavioral models that integrate into mixed‑signal simulations.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or related field.
• 10+ years in silicon photonics, PIC design, or optical interconnect development.
• At least one silicon photonics fabrication cycle in a primary design/integration role.
• Proficiency with photonic simulation tools listed above.
• Solid understanding of silicon photonics process fundamentals and PDK-based design flow.
• Experience developing optical link budgets and evaluating link performance (loss, coupling, BER).
• Strong written communication for technology assessments and specs.

Responsibilities

• Define Micron's photonics technology direction and provide data‑driven recommendations.
• Evaluate partner PIC designs, run simulations, and assess performance claims.
• Co‑specify test‑chip features and interfaces with the electrical I/O team.
• Develop optical link budgets, modulation strategies, and BER targets.
• Build photonic behavioral models for system‑level co‑simulation.
• Define optical test requirements for post‑silicon bring‑up.
• Author tech assessments, budgets, reviews, and test‑chip specs.
