Job summary

AMD is seeking an experienced manager to lead a team of silicon photonics design engineers to deliver PICs for co-packaged optics, defining best practices for device design, circuit analysis, and DFx. You will mentor engineers, report to senior leadership, and drive innovation in photonic architectures.

The role focuses on leadership, collaboration with foundry and supply chain teams, and delivering production-ready photonic solutions from R&D to market.

Qualifications

• Experience leading photonics design teams.
• Hands-on integrated photonics expertise.
• Experience bringing a photonic product from R&D to HVM.
• Experience working with industry-standard photonic and electronic design tools.
• Deep expertise in optical communication from device physics to link architecture.
• Familiarity with cross-disciplinary skillsets in high-speed design, test systems, optical control, hardware/firmware design, reliability, and qualification testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a design team to deliver advanced integrated silicon photonic devices
• Closely collaborate with internal and external teams to define and drive foundry technology and supply chain requirements to support yield and product delivery
• Establish and maintain best-practices for DFx across photonic designs
• Drive innovation in new devices, circuits, and optical architectures within integrated photonics
