Job summary
GlobalFoundries in Malta, NY is seeking a Silicon Photonics Device Engineer to lead active and passive device simulation, design and testing. The role coordinates qualification activities across integration, reliability, modeling and test teams and provides technical support to customers on solutions and root-cause analysis.
Applicants should hold a BS or higher in Electrical/Optical Engineering or related field and have extensive photonics experience. Travel is <10%.
Qualifications
- BS and above in Electrical/Optical Engineering or related field.
- 11+ years of relevant photonics experience for BS track; MS: 8+; PhD: 7+.
- Experience with silicon photonic device design, integration, test and packaging is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of passive and active silicon photonics device components to meet requirements.
- Simulate, design, and coordinate testing of new silicon photonic devices.
- Plan, coordinate, and document qualification of new photonic devices.
- Identify issues, formulate experiments to understand root cause, and improve processes.
- Interface with customers to evaluate solutions and assist in debugging.
