Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic early career engineer as a Device Engineer at our Malta, NY fab. You will work with the Technology Development team and transition to New Product Device Engineering to ramp Silicon Photonics devices.

Responsibilities include leading NPI workloads, collaborating with the Electrical Characterization Team, and driving data-driven improvements while maintaining manufacturing robustness and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
• Working knowledge in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
• Knowledge of circuit design and test, solid state device physics, submicron FET architectures, and the implications of electrical characteristics and performance on yield and product behavior.
• Affinity for quick learning.

Responsibilities

• Drive New Product Introductions by launching Silicon Photonics devices and setting performance targets.
• Master Device Performance by analyzing sensitivity curves and impact on electrical and optical performance.
• Lead New Product Introduction workload to ensure first-time-right launches.
• Collaborate with Electrical Characterization Team to set up SPC controls and monitoring strategies.
• Use data, failure analysis, and device knowledge to identify improvement opportunities.
• Accelerate improvements with Test, Integration, and Process Modules to reduce costs and cycle times.
• Champion customer success by supporting customer engineering and delivering solutions.
• Boost Manufacturing Excellence by contributing to process module activities.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
